As we approach auditions, please remember the following guidelines for your choosing your song:
1. The song should be from a broadway show that is NOT Alice In Wonderland Jr. 2. You only need to sing 16 - 20 bars/measures of the song that best showcase your voice. 3. You should sing with a background track that you need to provide. YouTube is a great source to find this. Any questions regarding a song choice should be directed to Ms. O'Connor. But ask soon to give yourself enough time to fully prepare. Break a leg!

We are pleased to share that this year's show is going to be Disney's Alice In Wonderland!
Looking ahead at our calendar, we are estimating that auditions will be held at the end of February! Stay tuned for details about the program and auditions! - The Production Team Hello, one and all!
We're excited for another school year, because this means that it's time for another show! There have been some changes with our production team that are bittersweet, but I am excited to share with you. First off, Miss Richer will no longer be assisting with the musical as she has taken a great opportunity in another district. That being said, I am super excited to share that Ms. O'Connor will be our new music director. And, in addition to that, she will also be co-directing the show! Additionally, after having been in touch with the staff advisors of the theater program at Vernon Hills High School, we are looking at possible ways that some of the upperclassmen can come back and offer assistance to our program. Given some space restrictions for our performance area, we are not going to be able to take every student who auditions to be a cast member in the show. This is a reality of performing that we were able to shove aside over the last four years. But given how this program has grown since, we simply can not cast every auditionee. My hope is that any student who may not make the production in the cast will, instead, at least consider helping out with the crew. All in all, there are very exciting opportunities abound. Keep checking back for updates about our program and show selection. - The Production Team Congratulations, everyone! We, the production team, are so incredibly excited for this year's show! Casting this was not an easy decision, as we have so many talented students who auditioned for us. When you look at the cast list, you will see a description for the ensemble that says "From this group, various solo and featured parts will be cast." What this means is that characters who may show up in only one song or scene will be cast out of the ensemble. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1 - Take the long weekend to reflect on how you have been cast in this production. We have talked about how there may be some disappointment, and that it's okay to feel that way. Do not make any decisions regarding your participation right away. 2 - Be prepared to commit to this production by the end of the school day on Tuesday, March 7th. If you decide to pursue other activities, please come and see me when school resumes on Tuesday. 3 - We will be having our first rehearsal/read-thru in the FITNESS ROOM from 2:30 - 4:00. Enjoy your long weekend! We look forward to seeing you at our first rehearsal next Tuesday! - Your Production Team - Mr. Mazzuca, Miss Richer, Ms. O'Connor, Miss Altschuler
Hello Auditioners and Families!
The production team is excited to share that we have selected a show for this year's musical production.
However, we will not be announcing the show until closer to winter break, so stay tuned for specific information! With a new school year comes the questions of what the show is going to be.
I am excited to begin collaborating with the production team, as we start perusing scripts and soundtracks to find a show that will work well with our amazing and talented students, and the venue in which we perform. Any updates about a show selection will happen right here! There is no timeline, as of yet, for selecting a show, or for any auditions. But keep checking back periodically as we continue to go forward and make decisions! |
We will be updating this site throughout the school year, specifically when we are underway with our production! Archives
