Congratulations, everyone! We, the production team, are so incredibly excited for this year's show! Casting this was not an easy decision, as we have so many talented students who auditioned for us and we had to keep in mind space and safety considerations. When you look at the cast list, you will see a description for the ensemble that says "From this group, various solo and featured parts will be cast." What this means is that characters who may show up in only one song or scene will be cast out of the ensemble. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1 - Take the long weekend to reflect on how you have been cast, and how you feel you did in your audition. We have talked about how there may be some disappointment, and that it's okay to feel that way. Do not make any decisions regarding your participation right away. 2 - If casting did not go the way that you were hoping for, please consider being involved in our stage painting crew or our costume crew. 3 - Be prepared to commit to this production by the end of the school day on Monday, March 4th. If you decide to pursue other activities, please come and see me when school resumes on Monday. 4 - We will be having our first rehearsal/read-thru in the CHORUS ROOM from 2:30 - 4:00 on Monday, March 4th. We hope to have the first week or two of rehearsals determined at that time. Enjoy your long weekend! We look forward to seeing you at our first rehearsal next Tuesday! - Your Production Team -
Thank you to everyone who came to audition.
Good morning and happy new year, from your production team!
News broke just before our winter break of the show selection for this year! We can officially announce that this year's production will be Disney's Aladdin Jr. For those of you new to our school, auditions will be held later in February, with production dates in early May. Audition information will be posted on this website under the PAGES tab and make sure you have downloaded the TEAMapp program on your smart phone to find us (Hawthorn North Presents...) and ask to join our Aladdin Jr. team! Also, if you are interested in joining stage crew, Ms. Altschuler will be in charge of that. She, along with the rest of the production team, will be putting together some new guidelines to be involved in that, so stay tuned! Good afternoon, all.
I wanted to touch base with everyone regarding the rehearsal schedule for the next few weeks. We have currently loaded rehearsals into the rehearsal schedule for the weeks leading up to spring break. As you can see, these rehearsals will focus on blocking. You need to go through the script and determine which scenes you are in so you will know if you are expected to be at rehearsal that day. That being said, I encourage EVERYONE to keep an eye on these rehearsals, as they can change at a moments notice due to my upcoming leave. Should my baby be born before spring break, the details of the rehearsals will change, as well as who may be called to rehearsal. It is your responsibility as a cast member to keep an eye on this. During my leave, the focus of the rehearsals will shift to the music and choreography, and we will resume blocking the show when I return. During my leave, Ms. O’Connor is going to be the contact person for anything regarding the show. Keep up the energy and creativity, as we are off to a great start! I’ll plan on seeing everyone on Monday after school! - Mr. Mazzuca Congratulations, everyone! We, the production team, are so incredibly excited for this year's show! We are excited by what we saw today and look forward to a great round of auditions tomorrow!
